How have you kept busy during quarantine?
“Up until the last few days, I was lucky to have a very clear and creative head in terms of creating music. I was doing a bunch of FaceTime writing sessions and tracking things from home… The Black Lives Matter movement has completely taken my full attention and I’ve kinda stepped away from creating music for the time being.”
Have you always known you wanted to be an artist?
“As long as I remember, yes.”
As a growing artist, what is a goal you hope to accomplish, and how do you plan on achieving it?
“I’m already living my dream. Making music every day and sharing it with people who want to listen. I do feel as a human, it’s easy to strive for bigger though, I guess what I’d love to have is a sold out show that I don’t need to promote so hard!“
How have you seen your fans connect with your music, Especially during a time where you can’t see them live?
“I think people turn to art during tough times. I feel almost more connected with my fans than ever!“
Congrats on your EP release “Pull Out Couch!” What was the process like collaborating with different writers and producers?
“I’m very lucky to have very very very very talented friends. Working with people like Grady Lee, Brad Blackburn, Wyatt Sanders, Sebastian Sartor… These are not only some of the most brilliant and gifted people I know, but they are also my closest friends. That also goes for the visual creation with Samuel Fisher. One of my best friends in the world and we get to work together almost every day. Taylor Mackall, Tobias Kelly… The guys that turn my music into a party for live shows and again… again, people I feel the closest to in this world.“
Which song on the EP do you connect most with, and why?
“Every day, I find a different speaking to me most. Today, ‘Here’ is sticking with me. I feel disconnected with my close friends right now as I haven’t been able to see them in person in a while… Be here, at its core is about missing someone and feeling like the moment would be better if they were with you.“
