The Nickelodeon star turned independent artist put on a great show in Sacramento.
Excited fans entered the venue after a small meet and greet with Drake. They clutched signed posters and headed towards the stage to join another small, but devoted, set of fans. Most seemed to be in their late teens to early 20s, clearly remembering him from hit TV series ‘Drake and Josh.’
Acoustics weren’t initially in Drake’s favor when he first came on stage. The band took about 5 minutes to tune instruments, but it gave the crowd a unique mini sound check which they seemed to enjoy. Once that settled, Drake Bell opened with a cover of ‘Ice Ice Baby.’
After 2 songs on his guitar, Drake moved over to his keyboard to show off his musical abilities.
Most of Drake’s set consisted of songs from his new album ‘The Lost Album’ which was released in February. Although he did mix in covers such as ‘Hotline Bling,’ being sure to give it a Drake Bell twist. Drake also sang his hit ‘Fuego Lento’ which features Spanish lyrics sang perfectly. The crowd joined in to help him sing 2005 hit ‘Do What You Want’ which was a teaser into his final song.
The night ended with the entire audience singing ‘Found A Way’ with Drake Bell. As everyone in the room relived their childhood by singing the theme song, a genuine smile was seen on Drake’s face as he watched his devoted fans.
